Day 41. The world, his wife and mistress

Accompanied by Nick on guitar and Aimee on piano I enjoyed a fun acoustic warm up show with Steve Norman from Spandau Ballet at The Old Market in Brighton last weekend . It was good to brush away the cobwebs, I realised that we hadn’t played live all year, I find it’s important to do warm ups for mental preparedness as much as anything. Steve was lovely and invited me on stage for the encore to sing Iggy’s The Passenger. There is some footage of it around on Steve’s Facebook page. He’s offered to play on the new album, so I’ve got sax covered for the brass section!

Staying with the 80s pop star theme it was a thrill to see I received a thank you on the new Soft Cell album Keychains & Snowstorms. I really can’t wait to see their show at the 02, the day after our show at Brixton… that’s gonna be a long weekend!

The Star Shaped tour is nearly upon us with the first date at Glasgow O2 Academy on Saturday, I look forward to seeing some of you up there. In the meantime we’re taking a break from writing this week and working on a set for the tour. Nick suggested Girl A, Girl B, Boy C could work with a new arrangement, so we’re in the midst of working that out. Here’s an early taster.

Be Seeing You. x
